介词加which，whom的定语从句
which可以修饰物，也可以代替前面说的整件事，(which前可以加逗号，)whom可以代替定语从句里的宾语，来修饰人，下面就讲，which和whom的前面还可以加介词，来修饰前面的物和人。
(A)
This is the river. The kids preferred to swim in this river.
这是两个简单句，但是是完整的句子，所以两个句子后都加句号。
把这两个句子合成定语从句，可以是，
1)This is the river that the kids preferred to swim in. that 代替in后面的river。
2)This is the river which the kids preferred to swim in. which代替in后面的river。
3)This is the river the kids preferred to swim in. that和which可以省略，因为连接词which和that代替的是定语从句里介词in的宾语。
4)This is the river in which the kids preferred to swim. in和which放在一起. 在river 的后面，in which the kids preferred to swim 一起修饰the river。
(B)
He liked the people. He lived with those people.
这两句合成定语从句，就是
1)He liked the people that he lived with. that即可以修饰人，也可以修饰物。
2)He liked the people who he lived with.
who可以代替定语从句里的主语，也可以代替宾语。(宾语有动词宾语，也有介词宾语)
3)He liked the people he lived the with.
连接词可以省略，因为代替的是介词with的宾语
4)He liked the people whom he lived with.
whom只能代替宾语。
4)He liked the people with whom he lived. 把with 和 whom 连起来，加上he lived,
放在一起修饰the people。
注：介词若是和连接词放在一起的定语从句，只能是修饰物用which，修饰人用whom。不能用that，who这两个连接词。也不能省略。定语从句与主句间可以加逗号。
